TRUE NORTH BROTHERSYOUR INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

True North Brothers is a Bible-reading and private Campfire community. We use information to run your account and the features you choose, not to sell your information or serve advertising.

Information you give us

When you sign in, we use your email address to send a one-time code and keep your account connected across devices. You can set a display name. Our service stores the notes, prayers, reading history, personal challenges, Campfire memberships, messages, and photos you choose to add. Your mission, plan, and some challenge progress are saved in this device's browser storage. We also keep your notification preferences and the information needed to deliver alerts you enable.

Who can see it

Members of a Campfire can see the messages, photos, and display names shared in that Campfire. Campfire leaders can remove messages and members. True North authors can review reported messages and photos for safety. Your private notes, prayers, mission, plan, and reading record are not posted to a Campfire unless you choose to share something there.

How we use and protect it

We use service providers for hosting, account sign-in, email delivery, storage, and optional push notifications. Those providers process information needed to deliver their services. We use access controls so Campfire content is available only to its members and authorized safety reviewers. No online service can promise absolute security.

Site analytics

We count visits and app sections used to understand whether True North is useful. This first-party count does not store names, email addresses, message text, or IP addresses in our analytics tables. A random session value is hashed with the day so visits can be counted without recognizing you on later days. These daily analytics records are deleted after about 90 days. Normal hosting and security services may separately process technical request information.

Your choices and deletion

You can edit your display name, delete your own messages and photos, leave a Campfire, and turn off notifications. You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Delete my account. If you own a Campfire, you must first choose a current co-leader to take it over. Account deletion removes your account and associated personal content from the active True North service. It does not automatically erase mission, plan, or challenge progress saved in browser storage on your device; you can clear that in your browser or app settings. Limited copies of server data may remain temporarily in provider backups or records we must keep by law.

Age and outside links

True North is for people age 13 or older. The sign-in screen asks members to confirm this; we do not independently verify age. Bible Gateway and other outside links have their own privacy practices.
